Israel’s Netanyahu orders ‘massive strikes’ on Gaza militants

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he’s ordered the army to keep up what he calls massive strikes on Palestinian militants in response to rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.

Hamad made a similar vow. The violence has claimed lives on both sides of the border – and there are reports that casualties are rising.

Gaza militants fired more than 400 rockets at Israel over the past day in one of the deadliest escalations in in years.

Israel reported first fatalities from rocket fire since 2014, with Hamas commander Hamed al-Khoudary among the dead.
