Two rescued brown bears from Lebanon find new home in Colorado

Homer and Ulysses are two Syrian brown #bears that were rescued from a #zoo in the suburbs of Tyre, southern #Lebanon and will be relocated in a wildlife sanctuary in #Colorado, United States.

Many other #animals are just barely hanging on in similar conditions, in all five of Lebanon’s zoos.

They are the collateral damage from the financial meltdown, which has left more than half of the population in #poverty and erased more than 90 percent of the local currency’s value.
