Northern Cameroon under persistent threat from Boko Haram

Northern Cameroon is a region under persistent threat from Boko Haram. People in the area have formed vigilante groups to help secure their villages. Around 120 men take turns working 12 hours shifts.

But they’re fighting with limited resources – and without any pay. Poverty and lack of work is threatening the staying power of the vigilante groups.

Some young people say they may not be able to continue protecting their villages.
