Australians don’t deserve ‘guilt trip’ in new anti-racism ad

Sky News host Chris Smith says a new anti-racism ad launched overnight which made some “pretty wild claims”.

“It’s been commissioned by the organisation, which over the years has been accusing everyone from cricketers to comedians of racism, the Australian Human Rights Commission,” Mr Smith said.

“The ad features a mix of white participants and people from multicultural backgrounds, all pointing to examples of racism, and how they feel about the racism they’ve faced.”

Mr Smith said the ad made “generalisations” about racial vilification and the tried to “guilt trip” Australians.

“It might be an ad campaign worth running, but spare us the generalisations, and any claim that racism is an issue on the rise, is just offensive.

“Australians don’t deserve that guilt trip.”
