Hong Kong is ramping up its aggressive overseas talent search scheme as it aims to attract highly-skilled professionals back to the city after a recent COVID-induced brain drain. Foreigners make up 10% of Hong Kong’s population. The city rolled out an aggressive talent trawling campaign last October, calling for graduates from the top 100 universities or those who have an annual salary of about US$320,000. Under the scheme, they can come to Hong Kong without any job offer. As of February, 92% of the nearly 8,400 applicants have gotten through.
